"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me." - Matt. 25:35
The Cornerstone Food Pantry is a ministry of Cornerstone Church and is affiliated with the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Every week, members of Cornerstone are involved in this ministry through financial donations, food ordering, food pickup, cleaning and stocking shelves, and the distribution of products to those in need.
The Food Pantry is open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month from 9-11 AM, and on the 2nd Monday of the month from 6-8PM. Please call the church office to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins during these operational hours are welcome.
God has consistenly demonstrated His care for the needy, and He will continue to do so throughout the rest of world history. And He calls His church to demonstrate that same care:
"Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do." - Gal. 2:10
"So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith." - Gal. 6:10
"Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need." - Eph. 4:28
"By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth." - 1 John 3:16-18
At Cornerstone, we take these principles from God’s Word seriously. We want to be a source of support and love to those in need. While it is impossible for us to meet every need we encounter, we want to provide the help that we are able.
